Trying to adapt or hack a factory stamped-steel crossmember for a custom drag racing setup frequently results in frame misalignment, mount failure, and costly damage to your transmission casing. BMR’s specialized conversion crossmember takes all the guesswork out of the swap, replacing the weak stock component with a heavy-duty, direct-fit tubular crossmember that bolts securely into the factory mounting locations and establishes the correct mounting height and driveline angle for your upgraded gearbox.
Engineered to handle intense structural loads in high-performance street, heavy-duty drag racing, and handling applications, this black hammertone powdercoated crossmember is manufactured right here in the U.S.A. It is crafted from robust 1.25-inch DOM steel tubing and high-strength, laser-cut, CNC-formed 3/16-inch steel plate. By shifting the torque arm mount completely off the transmission tailshaft and onto the rigid crossmember frame, it prevents catastrophic structural tailshaft housing breakage under hard acceleration. This heavy-duty rigidity completely eliminates crossmember deflection, ensuring your drivetrain remains properly aligned for predictable, repeatable chassis reactions. Installation takes approximately 1 to 2 hours.
NOTE: BMR’s TCC004 crossmembers are designed explicitly for factory LT1 engine configurations and will not work with LS-swapped vehicles without modification. As shipped, this unit is designed to work with BMR torque arms, but it may be used with stock or other aftermarket brands by installing a compatible front bushing.
