Wheel hop occurs when the rear tires repeatedly lose and regain traction. The soft factory rubber bushings compress and rebound under load, creating undamped suspension movement that contributes to this oscillation. Replacing these bushings with Delrin components significantly reduces the movement responsible for wheel hop.

IRS Subframe Bushing and Hardware Selection
Maximum Motorsports requires the vehicle year to be specified when ordering so the package can be supplied with the correct IRS subframe urethane bushings and attachment hardware.
- 1999-2004 Mustang Chassis: Uses 14mm bolts to attach the forward IRS subframe mounts to the chassis. Requires MMIRSU-1 subframe bushings.
- 1979-1998 Mustang Chassis: Uses 12mm bolts to attach the forward IRS subframe mounts to the chassis. Requires MMIRSU-2 subframe bushings.
Correct bushing and hardware selection is essential for proper installation, particularly when an IRS assembly has been installed in an earlier Mustang chassis.
