UMI uses Viking coilovers in its complete F-150 suspension packages, but the 656061 bracket kit is designed to accommodate most other coilover brands that meet the required mounting dimensions. Build Your Own F-150 Coilover Setup
Unlike a complete coilover kit, UMI 656061 supplies the mounting brackets needed to install a compatible coilover shock and spring system while allowing you to choose the shocks and springs separately. This makes the kit ideal for custom suspension combinations where a specific spring rate, shock length, or damper package is desired.
Note: Shocks and springs are not included with this bracket kit and must be purchased separately.

For reference, UMI uses 12-inch-long 600 lb/in and 850 lb/in springs in its F-150 coilover packages along with shocks providing a 13-7/8-inch to 15-1/8-inch range. These specifications are provided as a reference for UMI's own suspension combinations and should not be treated as a universal shock and spring requirement for every custom setup.
Selecting the Correct Shock and Spring
Because shocks and springs are purchased separately, UMI recommends setting the truck at the desired ride height and measuring the suspension to determine the proper shock length. The spring should then be selected based on the shock's intended ride-height position and the requirements of the vehicle.
Taking these measurements before ordering the remaining coilover components helps ensure the selected shock and spring combination is appropriate for the desired suspension setup.
Factory-Location Installation
The UMI bracket system installs using the factory lower A-arm location and upper spring-mount area. No fabrication is required for installation, allowing the brackets to simply bolt into the appropriate factory suspension locations.
