UMI Performance Rear Control Arm Kit Black (103546-B) - 2005-2010 Ford Mustang
Improve rear suspension control and traction in your 2005-2010 Ford Mustang with the UMI Performance Rear Control Arm Kit. The S197 Mustang uses a 3-link rear suspension consisting of one upper control arm, two lower control arms, and a panhard bar to control the rear end. Under heavy loads, the factory components can flex and the rubber bushings can deflect, contributing to poor traction and inconsistent handling.
The UMI 103546-B kit replaces the factory upper control arm and lower control arms with stronger components designed to reduce unwanted flex and improve control during hard launches. The kit includes one rear upper control arm and two heavy-duty boxed lower control arms manufactured from 1/8-inch wall USA steel tubing.
Heavy-Duty Rear Control Arm Upgrade
Replacing the factory control arms with stronger UMI components helps reduce control arm flex and bushing deflection under load. This provides better control of the rear suspension and helps improve traction when launching the vehicle.
1/8-Inch Wall USA Steel Construction
The included upper control arm and heavy-duty boxed lower control arms are constructed from 1/8-inch wall USA steel tubing. MIG welded fabrication provides a strong, durable assembly, while a high-quality gloss powder coat finish protects the components.
Greaseable Polyurethane Bushings
UMI equips the control arms with premium greaseable polyurethane bushings. These upgraded bushings help reduce the deflection associated with the factory rubber bushings while allowing routine lubrication.

The UMI Rear Control Arm Kit installs using the Mustang's factory hardware for a straightforward bolt-in upgrade.
Optional 1058 Spacer Kit
UMI offers the optional 1058 Spacer Kit to address movement at the factory upper control arm mount. The factory Ford chassis mount uses a 16mm mounting hole with a 14mm bolt, which can allow rear suspension movement and create noise during acceleration and braking.
The 1058 kit uses stepped spacers to reduce the factory mounting hole from 16mm to 14mm for a more precise fit around the bolt. This spacer kit is intended for use with the factory upper control arm mount. Most aftermarket upper control arm mounts already use the corrected 14mm hole size.
