Reduce rear brake weight without giving up dependable stopping performance with the TBM Brakes XS3 Rear Extreme Street Brake Kit for the 2015-2026 Ford Mustang S550 & S650. Developed from more than 30 years of racing experience, the XS3 system bridges the gap between lightweight race brakes and the larger, heavier street performance brake packages commonly found on late-model vehicles. This complete rear kit saves approximately 30 pounds compared to the factory rear brakes while delivering strong pedal response, excellent clamping force, and street-friendly braking performance.
The compact 12.19-inch rotor package was engineered to work with many factory-size and smaller-diameter wheels while maintaining impressive braking capability. Billet aluminum four-piston calipers, CNC-machined stainless steel pistons, slotted and vented rotors, Hawk Performance HPS pads, and billet aluminum hats combine to create a lightweight, durable braking solution for performance street cars and drag-oriented Mustang builds. The kit fits stock rear knuckle assemblies and requires modification to the rear knuckle during installation.

Caliper Design
The XS3 Extreme Street caliper uses engineering developed through TBM's racing brake programs. Each all-billet aluminum caliper features a rigid bridge structure and four large stainless steel pistons to provide substantial clamping force, consistent brake torque, and improved pedal response. Its internal crossflow fluid design eliminates exposed external tubes while promoting balanced pressure and smooth caliper operation.
Rotor Design
The included 12.19-inch cast rotors feature slotted and vented construction to balance stopping power, cooling capacity, durability, appearance, and overall weight. Their compact size allows the kit to fit behind many smaller factory and aftermarket wheels while still providing the heat management needed for demanding street performance applications. A dark zinc finish helps protect the rotors from corrosion before installation and on areas not contacted by the brake pads.
Brake Pads
This kit includes Hawk Performance HPS brake pads featuring a Ferro-Carbon friction compound. The HPS compound delivers a strong balance of braking performance, manageable brake dust, and reduced noise compared to more aggressive racing pad compounds, making it well suited for extreme street applications.
Billet Brake Hats
TBM's billet aluminum brake hats reduce weight by replacing the heavier steel center section found on conventional one-piece rotors. Their stepped mounting design also allows minor axle offset adjustment to assist with proper brake alignment during installation.

Additional Notes
- Rear knuckle modification is required for installation. Review all installation instructions before beginning.
- This kit is compatible only with stock rear knuckle assemblies.
- Fits many 15-inch and larger factory and aftermarket wheels when adequate clearance is available.
- Will not clear the inner beadlock ring of a 15-inch beadlock drag racing wheel.
- Wheel and brake clearance should always be verified before installation.
- TBM does not recommend silicone-based brake fluid with these calipers.
- Use only approved DOT 3, DOT 4, or DOT 5.1 brake fluid.
- TBM Extreme 6 DOT 5.1 brake fluid is recommended for best results.
- The brake system is designed to perform best at approximately 600 to 800 PSI of brake pressure during normal braking.
- Proper master cylinder sizing and pedal ratio are essential for correct brake operation and performance.
