Cut significant front brake weight while adding serious stopping performance with the TBM Brakes XS3 Front Extreme Street Brake Kit for 1999-2018 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 2WD and 4WD applications. Designed around the factory 6x5.5-inch hub pattern, this system replaces approximately 85 pounds of factory front brake components with a complete XS3 package weighing about 34 pounds, saving more than 51 pounds from the front of the truck. The result is a lighter braking system with strong clamping force, responsive pedal feedback, and compatibility with many smaller wheel combinations.

Developed from more than 30 years of TBM racing experience, the XS3 Series combines compact 12.19-inch slotted and vented rotors with rigid billet four-piston calipers to bridge the gap between lightweight racing brakes and larger street performance systems. Each caliper is machined from solid 6061 aluminum and fitted with CNC-machined 304 stainless steel pistons, while billet aluminum brake hats help further reduce rotating mass. The kit reuses the factory hubs with 14mm wheel studs and is engineered to fit many factory, steel, and drag racing wheels measuring 15 inches or larger when proper clearance is available.

Caliper Design

The XS3 Extreme Street caliper applies engineering developed through TBM's racing brake programs to a compact street performance package. Its all-billet 6061 aluminum construction and rigid bridge design help minimize caliper flex for more direct pedal response. Four 1.75-inch stainless steel pistons per caliper provide substantial clamping force, while the internal crossflow fluid design helps distribute hydraulic pressure evenly without relying on exposed external crossover tubes.

Rotor Design

The included 12.19-inch cast rotors combine slotted and vented construction to balance stopping performance, cooling capacity, durability, weight, and wheel clearance. Their compact diameter allows the XS3 package to fit many factory and aftermarket wheels measuring 15 inches or larger. Dark zinc plating provides additional protection against rust and corrosion on areas of the rotor not contacted by the brake pads.

Brake Pads

This kit includes Hawk Performance HPS brake pads featuring a Ferro-Carbon friction compound. The HPS material provides strong stopping capability while maintaining street-friendly characteristics with manageable brake dust and reduced noise compared to more aggressive racing compounds.

Billet Brake Hats

TBM's billet aluminum brake hats reduce rotating mass by replacing the heavier steel center section commonly used in traditional one-piece rotors. Their stepped mounting design also allows minor offset adjustment to help achieve proper brake alignment during installation.
