Designed specifically for S197 Mustangs using factory-style housing ends with a Strange C-clip Eliminator Kit, this rear brake package uses billet 6061 aluminum calipers, CNC-machined 304 stainless steel pistons, billet aluminum hats, and Hawk Performance HPS pads for a durable and responsive braking system. Its compact layout works with many 15-inch and larger wheels, making it an excellent choice for street, drag racing, and high-performance builds where wheel clearance and weight are important considerations.

Caliper Design
The XS3 Extreme Street caliper is based on engineering developed through TBM's racing brake programs. Each all-billet caliper features a rigid bridge structure and four large stainless steel pistons to provide excellent clamping force and consistent brake torque. The internal crossflow fluid design eliminates external tubes while helping equalize hydraulic pressure across the piston bores for smooth, predictable braking response.
Rotor Design
The included 12.19-inch cast rotors feature slotted and vented construction to balance braking performance, cooling ability, durability, and weight. Their compact size helps preserve compatibility with smaller wheel combinations while still providing the heat management needed for demanding street and performance use. A dark zinc finish adds corrosion protection before installation and on rotor surfaces not contacted by the brake pads.
Brake Pads
This kit includes Hawk Performance HPS brake pads using a Ferro-Carbon friction compound. The HPS material offers a strong balance of stopping performance, manageable brake dust, and reduced noise compared to more aggressive race-oriented pad compounds.
Billet Brake Hats
TBM's billet aluminum brake hats reduce unnecessary rotating mass by eliminating the heavier steel center section found in traditional one-piece rotors. The stepped mounting design also allows minor axle offset adjustment to help achieve proper brake alignment during installation.

- These brakes will not clear the inner beadlock ring of a 15-inch beadlock drag racing wheel.
- Fits many 15-inch and larger factory or aftermarket wheels when sufficient clearance is available.
- Always verify wheel and brake clearance before installation.
- TBM does not recommend silicone-based brake fluid with these calipers.
- Use only approved DOT 3, DOT 4, or DOT 5.1 brake fluid.
- TBM Extreme 6 fluid is recommended for best results.
- This brake system performs best at approximately 600 to 800 PSI brake pressure during normal braking.
- Proper master cylinder sizing and pedal ratio are essential for correct brake operation and performance.
