Built for extreme structural integrity, the heavy-duty bracketry in the SP008R kit is manufactured from CNC laser-cut and CNC-formed 0.25-inch steel plate. This robust design acts as a brace to reinforce the upper A-arm mounts, handling increased dynamic suspension loads under heavy cornering or hard launches while shedding up to 20 pounds of unsprung weight compared to the bulky factory setup. The kit features a smart design where the threaded adjuster collar slides over your factory-style struts to smoothly transform them into adjustable coil-overs. It can be installed entirely with the engine bay intact and the front fenders left on the car. Finished in a resilient red powder coat, it provides long-lasting defense against rust and track debris.
IMPORTANT FITMENT & INSTALLATION NOTES:
- Chassis Compatibility: Fits all 1982-1992 GM F-Body platforms (Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and Trans Am).
- Strut Restrictions: This kit is explicitly NOT compatible with Bilstein or Lakewood struts.
- Installation: Direct bolt-on design that can be completed with the engine and body panels in place. Includes a specialized drilling template to allow for straightforward clearancing using a hole saw. Estimated installation time is 3-4 hours.
