This structural deflection causes inconsistent rear tire loading, introduces alignment changes mid-corner, and bleeds away valuable horsepower. BMR engineered this ultra-rigid 4-point matrix system to bridge the front and rear subframes while anchoring to multiple high-stress underbody crossmembers, providing the ultimate structural fortification available for high-performance F-bodies.
Engineered for maximum chassis deflection resistance, the SFC020R kit is proudly fabricated in the USA from an incredibly stout combination of 2 x 2-inch (0.083-inch wall) and 1 x 1-inch (0.083-inch wall) structural square steel tubing. Rather than stopping short or using a basic two-point straight rail, BMR’s advanced 4-point architecture links the actual front subframe and rear subframe directly together, while simultaneously outrigging to tie into the rear lower control arm mounts and the central transmission tunnel brace. The gussets and mounting brackets are precision laser-cut and CNC-formed from high-tensile 3/16-inch structural steel plate to ensure an exact fit and extensive weld contact surface area. The entire multi-point perimeter matrix is fully MIG-welded and finished in a vibrant, high-gloss red powder coat that guards against underbody corrosion, road salt, and track debris. Once welded permanently to the floor pan and frame layout, these connectors eliminate interior squeaks, prevent body distortion, and provide a perfectly solid, straight jacking surface running down the length of the vehicle.
IMPORTANT FITMENT & INSTALLATION NOTES:
- Vehicle Compatibility: Fits all 1993-2002 fourth-generation GM F-Body rear-wheel-drive platforms (Chevrolet Camaro, Z28, SS, and Pontiac Firebird, Formula, Trans Am).
- Chassis Restriction: This kit is engineered specifically for hardtop and T-top models only. It is NOT compatible with Convertible chassis due to different floor pan reinforcement structures and clearance profiles.
- Installation: This is a permanent weld-on upgrade. Raw metal must be thoroughly exposed at all four attachment zones on the factory subframe, tunnel brace, and lower control arm pocket areas prior to welding. Bare structural steel must be painted or re-coated post-welding to prevent oxidation. Estimated installation time is 3 to 4 hours.
