Built specifically for 2001-2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7 engines, the PPE CNC-Ported Cast Iron Cylinder Head delivers major improvements in airflow, strength, and long-term reliability. Constructed from high-quality alloyed gray cast iron, this head eliminates the common durability issues associated with factory aluminum heads, including cracking, warping, and blown head gaskets.
5-Axis CNC-Ported for Maximum Airflow
Each intake and exhaust port is precision-machined using PPE's 5-axis CNC process, creating smooth, consistent airflow paths that enhance throttle response, reduce turbo lag, and support increased horsepower and torque. The porting is tailored to each casting to maintain wall thickness and ensure uniform performance across all cylinders.
Superior Heat Control & Structural Strength
The cast iron construction expands at the same rate as the OEM iron block, eliminating the head-gasket scrubbing that often leads to gasket failure on aluminum heads. The material also offers exceptional fatigue strength, heat resistance, and creep resistance - ideal for towing, performance builds, or high-heat environments.
Upgraded Valvetrain Components Included
Each head arrives fully assembled with premium components, including nitridated valves, Stellite-reinforced exhaust valves, upgraded springs, rocker arm dowels, and freeze plugs. The LB7 version also features cast-in injector cups, solving the OEM injector cup leakage issue.

Important Notes
- PPE installs valve seats with a high-interference fit for maximum durability. For extreme-heat applications, PPE recommends replacing exhaust seats with oversized (+0.006" to +0.008") 34mm seats.
