This PPE Cast Iron Cylinder Head is built for 2004.5-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax LLY, LBZ, and LMM engines and provides a strong, reliable foundation for custom engine builds. Made from specially alloyed gray cast iron, it offers significantly improved durability, heat resistance, and structural stability compared to factory aluminum heads.
Engineered for Strength & Thermal Stability
Because the cast iron head expands at the same rate as the OEM iron block, it eliminates the head-gasket scrubbing that commonly leads to blown gaskets on aluminum heads. The material also delivers superior fatigue strength and creep resistance, making it ideal for high-heat or high-performance applications.
Ready for Custom Valve Work
This version of the PPE head is supplied without valve seats or valves, giving engine builders full control over machining tolerances and seat selection. A custom valve job can be performed directly on the cast iron surface, or the head can be machined to accept oversized or specialty valve seats.
Includes Installed Guides & Freeze Plugs
Valve guides and freeze plugs come pre-installed, providing a solid starting point for your valvetrain setup while allowing complete customization of the remaining components.
