J&M Bump Steer Kit (05-14 Mustang) 24512

J&M Products has designed and manufactured a bump steer kit for the 2005-2014 Mustangs with an Aerospace 6061-T6511 aluminum body. The spherical rod end bodies are manufactured from heat treated chrome moly high strength alloy steel, then black oxide coated for a long lasting corrosion resistance.

The ball in the body is PTFE lined 52100 steel and hard chrome plated rated at a static radial load of 18,000 lbs.The tapered stud is machined from forged high strength steel and heat treated, the threads on the stud are rolled not cut after the heat treating process to assure strength and concentricity.

Bump steer can become a problem when cars are modified by lowering or lifting, when a lowering spring has been installed for a lower performance orientated ride, or if the vehicle is heavily loaded. When a car is lowered or lifted, the wheels’ toe setting changes and can cause uneven and premature tire wear.
