Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake - S&B Red Oiled Filter - No NOMEX Sleeve (2020 - 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray / 2024 - 2026 E-Ray - Coupe / HTC) - HRNT.518
Wake up the LT2 in your C8 with the Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake, a purpose-built intake engineered for 2020-2026 Corvette Stingray and 2024-2026 Corvette E-Ray models. The HRNT.518 replaces the factory intake with Halltech's high-flow design while retaining factory mounting locations and requiring no tuning. Halltech's Stingray dyno testing produced gains of more than 17 horsepower and 25 torque, although Halltech notes that independent results have varied. This specific configuration includes the S&B Red Oiled Filter and does not include the optional insulating sleeve.
The Hornet-518 is built around more than simply installing a larger filter. Halltech uses a molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition to promote laminar airflow at the MAF sensor, while the massive filter provides more than 600 square inches of filtration area. A military-grade XLPE filter box surrounds the filter, and a stainless steel backplate allows the factory harness fasteners and antenna to remain in their original locations. The system reuses the factory throttle-body connector hose, PCV fitting, left and right inlet ducts, and mounting bolts. Halltech engineered the HRNT.518 for both Coupe and HTC applications, with HTC installation requiring the top-center rivnut on the access panel to be drilled out.

Engineered Airflow for the LT2
Halltech designed the Hornet-518 around airflow quality as well as airflow volume. The molded-in velocity stack works with a reverse-flow partition to help deliver laminar airflow across the MAF sensor. That matters on a modern C8 because simply increasing intake size is not enough if airflow through the MAF becomes unstable. The HRNT.518 combines its large filter area with controlled airflow management to support performance while retaining factory-style drivability without requiring a tune.
Massive S&B Red Oiled Filter
This version of the HRNT.518 comes specifically with Halltech's S&B Red Oiled Filter option. The oversized Hornet filter provides more than 600 square inches of filtration area, giving the LT2 a substantial filter surface from which to draw air. This listing is for the red oiled S&B configuration, making it important to select this version if you specifically want oiled rather than dry filter media.
No NOMEX Sleeve Configuration
This version of the Hornet-518 does not include a NOMEX insulating sleeve. It is intended for buyers who want the complete HRNT.518 intake with the S&B Red Oiled Filter but do not need the additional sleeve option. The intake itself retains the same Halltech Hornet-518 filter box, stainless backplate, velocity stack, reverse-flow partition, and application-specific fitment.
Coupe and HTC Compatibility
Halltech engineers the Hornet-518 for both Coupe and HTC versions of the C8 Stingray and E-Ray. Coupe installation is a direct replacement with no vehicle modification specified by Halltech. For HTC models, Halltech specifies one installation step: the top-center rivnut on the access panel must be drilled out. No other modification is specified for the intake installation.

FAQs
Does the Halltech Hornet-518 HRNT.518 require tuning?
No. Halltech specifies the Hornet-518 as a direct cold air intake replacement that does not require tuning. Its molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition are designed to provide controlled, laminar airflow at the MAF sensor.
Does this HRNT.518 fit both C8 Coupe and HTC models?
Yes. Halltech specifically engineers the Hornet-518 for compatible Stingray and E-Ray Coupe and HTC models. On an HTC, Halltech states that the top-center rivnut on the access panel must be drilled out during installation. This HRNT.518 does not fit the C8 Z06, ZR1, or ZR1X.
