Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake - S&B Red Oiled Filter - NOMEX Sleeve (2020 - 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray / 2024 - 2026 E-Ray - Coupe / HTC) - HRNT.518
Upgrade the LT2 in your C8 Corvette with the Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake, engineered specifically for 2020-2026 Corvette Stingray and 2024-2026 Corvette E-Ray models. The HRNT.518 combines a massive high-flow filter, application-specific airbox, molded-in velocity stack, and engineered MAF airflow management in a direct cold air intake replacement that Halltech states requires no tuning. Halltech's Stingray dyno testing recorded gains of more than 17 horsepower and 25 torque, although Halltech notes that results have varied. This configuration includes the S&B Red Oiled Filter along with the optional NOMEX insulating sleeve.
The Hornet-518 is designed as a complete airflow system rather than simply replacing the factory filter with a larger element. Its oversized filter provides more than 600 square inches of filtration area, while Halltech's molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition are designed to maintain laminar airflow at the MAF sensor. The filter box is constructed from military-grade XLPE, and a stainless steel backplate retains the factory locations for the harness fasteners and antenna. The system also reuses the factory throttle-body connector hose, PCV fitting, left and right inlet ducts, and mounting bolts.

S&B Red Oiled Filter
This HRNT.518 configuration comes with Halltech's S&B Red Oiled Filter option. Halltech offers four filter choices for the Hornet-518, allowing owners to choose between dry and oiled media. The S&B Red Oiled Filter provides the oiled-media configuration while retaining the massive filter dimensions and more than 600 square inches of filtration area engineered into the Hornet-518 system.
NOMEX Insulating Sleeve
This version also includes Halltech's optional NOMEX insulating sleeve. That makes this configuration different from the otherwise identical S&B Red Oiled Filter version sold without the sleeve. If you want the Hornet-518 with Halltech's red oiled S&B filter and the optional NOMEX sleeve, this is the correct HRNT.518 configuration.
Engineered Airflow at the MAF Sensor
Halltech designed the Hornet-518 around airflow quality as well as airflow capacity. The molded-in velocity stack works with a reverse-flow partition designed to maintain laminar airflow at the MAF sensor. That controlled airflow is especially important on a modern C8, where increasing intake capacity without properly managing the MAF signal can create drivability and calibration issues. Halltech specifies the HRNT.518 as requiring no tuning.
More Than 600 Square Inches of Filtration
The Hornet-518 uses an oversized filter providing more than 600 square inches of filtration area. Halltech combines that substantial filter surface with its engineered velocity stack, reverse-flow partition, and application-specific airbox to create a complete intake system rather than relying on filter size alone.
Coupe and HTC Compatibility
The Hornet-518 is engineered for both Coupe and HTC versions of the C8 Stingray and E-Ray. Halltech specifies that HTC installation requires the top-center rivnut on the access panel to be drilled out. The intake otherwise functions as a direct cold air intake replacement while retaining multiple factory components and mounting locations.
