Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake - S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow TRACK Filter - No NOMEX Sleeve (2020 - 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray / 2024 - 2026 E-Ray - Coupe / HTC) - HRNT.518

Put the LT2's intake side to work with the Halltech Systems Hornet-518 Cold Air Intake, engineered specifically for the C8 Corvette Stingray and E-Ray. The HRNT.518 combines a massive filter, purpose-built airbox, molded-in velocity stack, and airflow management at the MAF sensor in a direct replacement system that Halltech states requires no tuning. Halltech's Stingray dyno testing recorded gains of more than 17 horsepower and 25 torque, although Halltech notes that results have varied. This specific configuration includes the S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow Track Filter and does not include an optional insulating sleeve.

Rather than simply increasing filter size, Halltech designed the Hornet-518 as a complete airflow system. Its molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition are designed to maintain laminar airflow at the MAF sensor, while the oversized filter provides more than 600 square inches of filtration area. The filter box is manufactured from military-grade XLPE, and a stainless steel backplate keeps the factory harness fasteners and antenna in their original locations. The system reuses the factory throttle-body connector hose, PCV fitting, left and right inlet ducts, and mounting bolts, giving Stingray and E-Ray owners a performance-oriented intake engineered around the C8 platform.

S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow Track Filter

This HRNT.518 is equipped specifically with Halltech's S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow Track Filter option. Halltech offers four filter choices for the Hornet-518, including both dry and oiled media, and identifies this gray S&B version as its high-flow track filter. It is the configuration for C8 owners specifically looking for Halltech's track-oriented S&B filter option while retaining the complete Hornet-518 intake architecture.

More Than 600 Square Inches of Filtration

The Hornet-518 uses an oversized filter with more than 600 square inches of filtration area. That substantial surface area is paired with Halltech's molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition rather than relying on filter size alone. Together, these components are designed to move air through the intake while maintaining the controlled airflow Halltech specifies at the MAF sensor.

Engineered MAF Airflow Without Required Tuning

Increasing airflow on a modern C8 has to work with the factory engine management system. Halltech designed the Hornet-518's velocity stack and reverse-flow partition to maintain laminar flow at the MAF sensor, and Halltech specifies the HRNT.518 as requiring no tuning. That gives Stingray and E-Ray owners an intake engineered as a complete system rather than simply adding a larger filter to the factory airflow path.

No NOMEX Sleeve Configuration

This version of the HRNT.518 does not include the optional insulating sleeve. It combines the Hornet-518 intake with the S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow Track Filter while leaving out the additional sleeve option. This is the correct configuration for buyers who specifically want the Halltech track-filter setup without an intake-tube insulating sleeve.

Coupe and HTC Compatibility

Halltech engineered the Hornet-518 for both Coupe and HTC versions of the C8 Stingray and E-Ray. For HTC installation, Halltech specifies that the top-center rivnut on the access panel must be drilled out. Halltech otherwise describes the HRNT.518 as a direct cold air intake replacement requiring no modifications.

FAQs

What makes the S&B Gray Oiled High-Flow Track Filter different from the other HRNT.518 filter options?
Halltech identifies the gray S&B option specifically as its Oiled High-Flow Track Filter. It is the track-oriented filter choice among the four filters Halltech offers for the Hornet-518 and uses oiled rather than dry filter media.

Does the Halltech Hornet-518 HRNT.518 require tuning?
No. Halltech states that the HRNT.518 requires no tuning. The intake incorporates a molded-in velocity stack and reverse-flow partition designed to maintain laminar airflow at the MAF sensor while providing the LT2 with the Hornet-518's increased filtration area and performance-oriented airflow design.
