Halltech Nomex Insulative Sleeve - H-NMX
Help keep underhood heat away from your intake system with the Halltech Nomex Insulative Sleeve. The H-NMX is an 18-inch black thermal barrier designed to completely insulate Halltech intake tubes, helping isolate the intake airflow from elevated engine-compartment temperatures. Depending on the intake configuration, the sleeve may also be long enough to cover the throttle body hose and/or filter neck for additional thermal protection.
Halltech constructs the H-NMX from heat-resistant DuPont Nomex aramid fabric combined with a stretch elastomer. The result is a lightweight, conformable thermal barrier that helps reduce heat transfer from the engine compartment into the intake tube. Installation can be adapted to the specific intake by cutting a slit where needed for access to the MAF sensor and/or PCV fitting.

Halltech IAT Testing
Halltech also performed real-world intake air temperature testing of the sleeve. With ambient temperature at 70 degrees Fahrenheit, Halltech reported 70-degree Fahrenheit IATs during 30 minutes of normal driving and a high-speed run to 130 mph. After the 130 mph run followed immediately by a 60-second idle, IAT increased to 78 degrees Fahrenheit, or 8 degrees above ambient. After another block of driving, IAT returned to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Actual intake air temperatures will vary with vehicle configuration, ambient temperature, driving conditions, airflow, and other factors.
