How to Determine Injector Impedance
To select the correct driver, measure injector resistance using a multimeter:
- Set multimeter to Ohms (200 range)
- Measure lead resistance and record value
- Measure injector terminal resistance
- Subtract lead resistance from injector reading for true impedance
- Above 7 ohms - No driver required
- 3 to 7 ohms - Use 2A/0.5A driver
- 1.5 to 3 ohms - Use 4A/1A driver
- Below 1.5 ohms - Use 8A/2A driver
Important: Billet Atomizer injectors manufactured after November 2012 require the 8A driver regardless of measured resistance. Units prior to serial # C300**** should use the 4A/1A version.
