Part number 073501DS combines a proven Ford 9-inch architecture with Detroit Speed's C6 full-floater design and application-specific QuadraLink suspension mounting. The floater configuration improves handling through more predictable braking and tire contact while eliminating axle deflection, greatly reducing brake knockback, and increasing bearing life.
Detroit Speed builds the 073501DS around a heavy-duty round-back housing with TIG-welded 3-inch axle tubes featuring .218-inch wall thickness. The QuadraLink brackets are TIG welded directly to the housing, eliminating much of the fabrication required to adapt a generic housing to the Detroit Speed suspension system. C6 full-floater ends allow ABS use and can be configured with or without a parking brake. The housing accepts factory C6 rear brakes along with compatible aftermarket rear brake packages from AP, Baer, or Wilwood. A durable satin black powdercoat provides a finished appearance and added protection right out of the box.
