DSE QuadraLink Rear Suspension Kit - Single-Adjustable Shocks (041714-SDS) - 1970 - 1981 Pontiac Firebird

Give your 1970-1981 Pontiac Firebird the rear suspension control of a modern performance car with the Detroit Speed QUADRALink Rear Suspension Kit. Engineered to replace the factory leaf spring setup, the QUADRALink combines Detroit Speed's exclusive 4-link geometry with patented Swivel-Link technology to deliver excellent handling, ride quality, axle control, and smooth suspension articulation. Instead of using rod ends that can become noisy and wear over time, Detroit Speed uses tuned high-durometer rubber bushings to maintain responsive suspension movement while keeping the system well suited for a street-driven performance build.

The 041714-SDS configuration steps up to DSE/JRi aluminum-body single-adjustable coilover shocks with Detroit Tuned valving. An installed adjustment knob provides rebound adjustment, letting you fine-tune shock response while maintaining excellent street ride quality. Long upper links provide excellent pinion and U-joint angle control, improved anti-squat geometry helps control rear suspension movement under acceleration, and a long adjustable Panhard rod precisely locates the rear axle laterally during hard cornering. With weld-on axle brackets for 3-inch axle tubes, additional tire clearance from the inboard-offset lower links, and compatibility with stock tubs or Detroit Speed Mini-Tubs, 041714-SDS provides a serious suspension foundation for a second-generation Firebird.

DSE 041714-SDS is configured for a stock axle and includes weld-on axle brackets. Detroit Speed specifies that these brackets require a 3-inch axle tube. If you plan to use a complete rear-end assembly, Detroit Speed recommends ordering the QUADRALink kit without axle brackets. The suspension is designed to work with either Detroit Speed Mini-Tubs or stock tubs, and the appropriate tub configuration should be specified for the vehicle.
