DSE Mini-Tub Kit (041229DS) - 1962-1967 Chevy II
Transform the rear of your 1962-1967 Chevy II for the wider wheel and tire package a serious street or Pro-Touring build demands with the Detroit Speed Mini-Tub Kit. This complete system relocates the rear leaf springs inboard and adds wider Mini-Tub inner fenders to dramatically increase available tire clearance. The combination allows up to a 295mm-wide rear tire on 1962-1965 Chevy II models and up to a 315mm-wide rear tire on 1966-1967 models while lowering the car 2 inches from stock ride height.
Detroit Speed engineered the suspension around 150 lbs/in multi-leaf springs that deliver improved handling without sacrificing street-friendly ride quality. The biased spring design allows the front section of the spring to help control spring wrap under hard load conditions, while tapered leaves and anti-friction pads between each leaf promote smooth suspension movement. Unlike the spring-only 041228DS package, 041229DS is the complete Mini-Tub package and includes the inner fenders along with the leaf springs, shackles, U-bolts, Mini-Tub shocks, shock mounts, and mounting hardware needed for the conversion.
