The Detroit Speed Mini Tub Spring Kit is engineered to relocate the rear leaf springs inboard, creating additional clearance for wider wheel and tire combinations while dropping the car 2 inches from stock ride height. When paired with the available Detroit Speed Mini-Tubs, the system accommodates up to a 295mm-wide tire on 1962-1965 Chevy II models and up to a 315mm-wide tire on 1966-1967 models.
These are more than simply lowered leaf springs. Detroit Speed uses 150 lbs/in multi-leaf springs with a biased design that allows the front section of the spring to help control spring wrap under hard load conditions. Tapered leaves and anti-friction pads between the leaves help maintain smooth suspension movement and ride quality while delivering the control expected from a performance-oriented rear suspension. The kit includes the leaf springs, shackles, U-bolts, shock mounts, and mounting hardware, making it an ideal package for Chevy II builds that already have Detroit Speed Mini-Tub inner fenders installed.
