DSE SpeedRay Front Suspension Kit - Base Shocks - Bolt-In Coilover Mounts (032072DS) - 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvette SBC / LS

Bring modern suspension geometry, steering response, and coilover performance to your C2 or C3 Corvette with the Detroit Speed SpeedRay Front Suspension Kit. Engineered for 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvettes with SBC or LS engine applications, part number 032072DS combines Detroit Speed's exclusive suspension geometry with a bolt-in coilover mounting system, quick-ratio power rack and pinion steering, forged aluminum uprights, tubular control arms, and a complete coilover setup. This integrated system is engineered to deliver sharper handling and improved ride quality while retaining the character that makes a classic Corvette so much fun to drive.

At the heart of the SpeedRay system is a powder-coated bolt-on cradle assembly that improves suspension geometry while providing rigid mounting for the rack and pinion. TIG-welded tubular upper and lower control arms feature Delrin bushings, while forged offset upper control arm mounting brackets use caster tuner bushings to optimize suspension geometry and provide clearance for Gen V LT4 engines. DSE/JRi aluminum-body base coilover shocks use Detroit Tuned valving to deliver responsive performance in a straightforward non-adjustable package, paired with 550 pounds/inch springs and an 8-inch free length. An integrated splined sway bar with aluminum arms and composite bushings adds another layer of front-end control. Torrington bearings and a spanner tool are included for easier spring-height adjustments, and installation does not require removal of the body or engine.

Competition Rack & Pinion Note

For competition applications, the DSE rack and pinion fluid transfer conversion kit can replace the hardlines on the DSE rack and pinion with -4 AN steel fittings. The hoses are Teflon lined to handle the high-pressure demands of the steering system and use pre-crimped stainless steel fittings for attachment to the -4 AN fittings.

FAQs

Are the shocks in DSE 032072DS adjustable?
No. Part number 032072DS uses DSE/JRi Detroit Tuned base shocks in a non-adjustable configuration. They are designed to provide the dynamic response of JRi shock technology while delivering excellent street ride quality without requiring external shock adjustments.

Does DSE 032072DS require fabrication for the coilover mounts?
No. This SpeedRay configuration uses bolt-in upper coilover mounts. Detroit Speed offers other SpeedRay configurations with fabricated competition coilover mounts for applications where that design is preferred.

Can ride height still be adjusted with the non-adjustable shocks?
Yes. The base shock itself is non-adjustable for damping, but the coilover system provides ride-height adjustment. The included Torrington bearings and spanner tool help make spring-height adjustments easier.

Do the body and engine need to be removed to install the SpeedRay system?
No. Detroit Speed specifically states that the body and engine do not need to be removed for installation of the SpeedRay front suspension.

What engines is DSE 032072DS designed for?
Part number 032072DS is the SpeedRay bolt-in front suspension configuration for Small Block Chevrolet and LS engine applications in 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvettes.
