At the center of the design are CNC-machined stainless steel cross shafts with Detroit Speed Caster Tuner Bushings. These aluminum bushings allow caster changes by moving the upper control arm fore or aft, providing a precise and permanent method of adding or reducing caster without relying solely on additional alignment shims. Two sets of Caster Tuner Bushings are included, giving builders an application-specific method of dialing in the front-end alignment.
Detroit Speed also replaces the compliant factory-style control arm bushings with greaseable aluminum/Delrin bushings. Their increased stiffness reduces unwanted movement compared with stock bushings, helping the suspension respond more consistently to steering and road inputs. CNC-machined beveled stainless steel washers and stainless Nylock nuts complete the bushing assemblies.
The 030101DS kit is supplied as a comprehensive bolt-on package with the necessary control arm components and hardware. Detroit Speed specifies 50 feet-pounds of torque for the upper control arm-to-frame fasteners and 50 feet-pounds for the upper ball joint-to-spindle connection. The included upper ball joints are shipped without grease and must be lubricated with quality chassis grease before use. A professional alignment should be performed after installation.
