Detroit Speed Subframe Connectors (1962-1967 Chevrolet Chevy II) - 010104DS
Build a stronger foundation into your early Chevy II with the Detroit Speed 010104DS Weld-In Subframe Connectors. Engineered specifically for 1962-1967 Chevrolet Chevy II applications, these connectors integrate with the front and rear frame rails and floor pan to increase longitudinal and torsional chassis stiffness. The result is a more rigid, unified chassis structure that is ideal for performance street cars, Pro-Touring builds, restorations, and other applications where reducing unwanted chassis flex is a priority.
Detroit Speed constructs the 010104DS connectors from 2 inches x 3 inches x 0.083 inch wall rectangular steel tubing. Each connector is bent and TIG welded in a fixture for accuracy and repeatability. Laser-cut brackets provide a strong welded connection, while the rear of the connector is tapered to integrate with the rear frame rails. A laser-cut slot conforms to the rear seat floor pan, allowing the connector to become an integrated part of the chassis rather than simply hanging underneath it.
The low-profile design keeps the connectors barely visible from underneath the car and, once installed, they are not visible from the vehicle's side view or detrimental to ground clearance. Detroit Speed also designed the system so it does not interfere with seat attachment hardware or installation and removal of the rear leaf spring pocket. The factory molded carpet can still fit over the connectors, and they can be installed on convertible applications.
Important fitment note: If your Chevy II is not equipped with the Detroit Speed QUADRALink rear suspension, Detroit Speed torque boxes are required and must be purchased separately. The torque boxes are not included with the 010104DS Subframe Connector kit.
