Detroit Speed Subframe Connectors (1968-1974 GM X-Body) - 010102DS

Strengthen the foundation of your classic GM X-Body with the Detroit Speed 010102DS Weld-In Subframe Connectors. Designed for 1968-1974 X-Body applications, these connectors tie the front subframe into the rear frame rails to increase chassis stiffness and create a more rigid structure for improved overall performance. Whether you're building a street-driven cruiser, Pro-Touring car, or performance-focused restoration, these connectors help reduce unwanted chassis flex while maintaining a clean, integrated appearance underneath the vehicle.

Detroit Speed fabricates the 010102DS connectors from durable 2 inches x 3 inches x 0.120 inch wall rectangular steel tubing. The connectors are bent and TIG welded in a fixture for accuracy and repeatability, while laser-cut brackets attach the rear of the front subframe to the connector for a strong and straightforward welded joint. The rear portion of each connector is tapered to mate with the rear frame rails, and a laser-cut slot is incorporated to conform closely to the rear seat floor pan.

Unlike bulkier designs that hang prominently below the chassis, Detroit Speed engineered these subframe connectors to remain barely visible from underneath the car. Their integrated design does not interfere with factory seat attachment hardware or the installation and removal of the rear leaf spring pocket. The factory molded carpet can also continue to fit over the connectors after installation, helping preserve the interior appearance of the vehicle.

The 010102DS system is also compatible with convertible applications where applicable. Detroit Speed includes installation templates, pictures, and detailed instructions to help ensure the connectors are positioned and installed correctly.
