Designed for Coilover Suspension Systems
The factory Mustang rear suspension uses springs that are mounted separately from the shocks. Because of the factory spring location and motion ratio, many conventional aftermarket suspension packages rely on a larger, stiffer rear anti-roll bar to achieve the desired roll stiffness.
When converting to a CorteX rear coilover configuration, suspension motion and spring control change significantly. Simply installing a larger rear anti-roll bar can add excessive roll stiffness and prevent the suspension from articulating properly. The CorteX 18mm bar is designed to complement this type of coilover setup and maintain a more favorable balance between roll control and available mechanical grip.
Improve Rear Tire Performance
A suspension needs enough freedom of movement to keep the tires properly loaded as the chassis corners. Excessive rear anti-roll bar stiffness can reduce independent wheel movement and make it more difficult for the rear tires to maintain optimal contact with the pavement.
The lower rate of this 18mm bar allows greater suspension articulation, helping the rear tires work more effectively during aggressive cornering. This makes it an excellent choice for many road course and track-driven S197 Mustangs.
