The 21096 retains full exhaust sound control through Corsa's proprietary cast valve assemblies designed specifically for the GT350. The system reuses the vehicle's factory valve modules, allowing the active exhaust functionality to remain part of the upgraded Corsa system.
The active configuration provides a broad sound range from Corsa's aggressive Xtreme character with the valves open to a quieter Touring sound profile with the valves closed. The Double HELIXX configuration provides a purpose-built crossover design rather than a conventional single crossover arrangement, helping shape the sound of the complete GT350 exhaust system.
Straight-Through Muffler Design
Corsa utilizes a straight-through muffler design to support exhaust flow while relying on RSC acoustic engineering to control unwanted interior frequencies. No replacement exhaust tips are included with the 21096. Instead, the dual rear exit system is designed to reuse the GT350's factory valence bezels. This retains the integrated factory rear appearance while replacing the exhaust system behind the valence with Corsa's active performance configuration.
Updated Replacement for Corsa 14348
Corsa part number 21096 is the updated active-valve Cat-Back system that replaces the obsolete non-active Corsa Cat-Back part number 14348. Owners with existing Corsa components can also upgrade their current configuration without necessarily purchasing the complete 21096 system.
If your GT350 currently has the older non-active Corsa Cat-Back part number 14348, Corsa specifies part number 21099 as the replacement muffler package needed to convert the system to the active Cat-Back configuration.
If the vehicle currently has only the Corsa Double X-Pipe part number 14347, Corsa specifies part number 21098 to complete the active Cat-Back system.
GT350R Sound Considerations
The Corsa 21096 also fits the 2015-2020 Mustang GT350R 5.2L V8. GT350R models typically do not use a resonator, also referred to as a packed muffler, in the same manner as the standard GT350. Because of this factory configuration, installing the Corsa Double X-Pipe on a GT350R will improve and alter the exhaust tone but typically will not increase overall exhaust volume by itself.
