2021 Ford Raptor Finally Gets 37in Tires and Trombone Loop Exhaust

Today, Ford Performance announced the 2021 Ecoboost powered Raptor will receive factory optioned 37in tires to go along with the standard 35in BF-Goodrich All Terrain tire. This gives the truck much more off-road ability and much needed ground clearance. With the larger diameter tires, the truck features 13.1 inches of running clearance, 33.1 degrees of approach angle, a maximum 24.9 degrees of departure angle and 24.4 degrees of breakover angle. These are great numbers for daily driving and weekend adventures with the family. Three different 17-inch wheels will be available, two with beadlock capability to aid in keeping the tire on the rim during extreme driving.

The all new designed body is wider and more aggressive, the "Power Dome" Hood allows for better heat extraction. The hood has functional side vents at the top trailing edge of the fender, all inspired by the intakes of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.

For us, we love the sound of the new patent pending X-Pipe and the "Trombone Loop" which aids in overall exhaust sounds. The free-flowing mufflers and active exhaust allow the sound to be controlled with 4 different modes, our favorite sound is Baja Mode.

Powering the new Raptor is the proven 3.5L Ecoboost and 10 Speed Auto. The third-generation twin-turbo EcoBoost high-output engine delivers torque low in the rev range right where it counts. It features state-of-the-art turbos and hefty 10.5:1 compression ratio for excellent power in the dirt, sand or street. The 10-Speed automatic has been well proven on the Mustang and will offer the same capabilities on the Raptor.

The 2021 Raptor is well equipped for camping, off-roading or any overlanding adventures. From the factory, it can be ordered with an available 2.0 kilowatts of exportable output. This makes it much easier for the outdoor enthusiast to run power tools, camp lights and other equipment like coffee makers and freezer / fridge combos. Available Rigid off-road lighting mounted in the front bumper helps drivers illuminate even the darkest night.
