As boost, horsepower, and engine speed increase, maintaining proper belt tension becomes critical. The increased spring force of the ARS tensioner helps maintain belt grip during hard acceleration and high-RPM operation, reducing unwanted belt slip and helping deliver more consistent supercharger performance.
American Racing Solutions precision CNC-machines the tensioner from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum rather than cast material for an excellent combination of strength, durability, and machining accuracy. Important Pulley Clearance Note
This tensioner is sold by default with a 63mm 10-rib smooth pulley. The 63mm pulley is required for proper clearance when running a 20% oversized damper, a common modification on high-performance Shelby GT500 applications.
