GTC-500 Airfoil Design
The APR Performance GTC-500 uses an aerodynamically optimized airfoil developed through Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis. Its cambered profile creates an effective pressure differential across the upper and lower surfaces, producing rear downforce while helping maintain attached airflow and minimize flow separation at higher speeds.
With an aerodynamic efficiency of up to an 8.88:1 downforce-to-drag ratio, the GTC-500 is designed to provide the rear aerodynamic load needed for serious performance driving without unnecessarily sacrificing straight-line performance.
Adjustable Angle of Attack
The GTC-500 provides an adjustable angle of attack from 0 to 15 degrees, allowing the aerodynamic balance to be tailored to the vehicle, track, and driving conditions. Higher wing angles generate increased rear downforce for greater traction, braking stability, and cornering grip, while lower settings reduce aerodynamic drag when straight-line speed is the priority.
This adjustability makes the wing particularly useful for track and competition vehicles where aerodynamic requirements can change significantly between circuits.
Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber Construction
The wing is manufactured from pre-impregnated woven carbon fiber for an exceptional combination of strength, rigidity, and low weight. APR Performance autoclave cures the carbon fiber using billet aluminum molds to achieve consistent material density and structural integrity.
The rigid carbon fiber construction helps resist flexing under substantial aerodynamic loads, allowing the airfoil to maintain its intended shape and provide consistent performance at high speeds.
Billet Aluminum Risers & Vehicle-Specific Mounting
High-strength 10mm aircraft-grade 6061 billet aluminum risers provide a rigid mounting structure while allowing adjustment of the wing. Vehicle-specific carbon fiber bottom plates are used to securely integrate the system with the CTS-V Coupe.
Please note that the mounting bases are positioned at the edges of the trunk lid.
