At the heart of the SM-10RS is a proprietary 6061-T6 aluminum forging produced under an incredible 10,000 metric tons of pressure. These massive forgings weigh as much as 120 pounds before machining and are engineered specifically for motorsport applications. The extreme forging pressure improves grain structure, minimizes porosity, and creates an exceptionally strong foundation before precision machining begins.

The SM-10RS features Apex's signature I-Beam spoke design with aggressive side milling on both sides of each spoke. This manufacturing process removes unnecessary mass while preserving strength and stiffness. Combined with optimized spoke geometry, the SM-10RS delivers nearly 10% greater stiffness than the VS-5RS and approximately 25% more stiffness than Apex's original forged wheel designs.
