7:1 FMU Recalibration Kit for Vortech Standard Fuel Management Units
The Vortech Standard 7:1 FMU Recalibration Kit (PN 6Z170-060) is designed to change the fuel pressure rise rate of an existing Vortech Standard Fuel Management Unit (FMU) to a 7:1 ratio. This calibration is intended for EFI supercharged applications that require less aggressive fuel pressure gain than a 10:1 or 12:1 FMU, while still maintaining safe air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
By recalibrating your current FMU instead of replacing the entire unit, this kit provides a precise and cost-effective way to tailor fuel pressure behavior to injector size, boost level, and overall engine combination.
What the 7:1 Calibration Is Used For
The 7:1 FMU calibration is commonly used in Vortech supercharged EFI setups where moderately upgraded fuel injectors are installed and excessive fuel pressure rise must be avoided. It offers a balanced increase in fuel pressure that supports drivability while still delivering adequate enrichment under boost.
Higher ratios are best suited for stock injectors, while lower ratios are recommended for larger injector, higher-output custom builds.
