4:1 FMU Recalibration Kit for Vortech Standard Fuel Management Units
The Vortech Standard 4:1 FMU Recalibration Kit (PN 6Z170-015) allows you to change the fuel pressure rise rate of an existing Vortech Standard Fuel Management Unit (FMU) to a 4:1 ratio. This recalibration is intended for high-output EFI supercharger applications using significantly larger-than-stock fuel injectors, where controlled fuel pressure increase is critical for safe and consistent air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
Rather than replacing the complete FMU assembly, this kit provides a precise and cost-effective solution for tailoring fuel pressure behavior to match upgraded injectors, higher boost levels, and custom engine combinations.
What the 4:1 Calibration Is Used For
The 4:1 FMU calibration is designed for Vortech supercharged EFI setups that require a lower rate of fuel pressure gain compared to higher-ratio FMUs. This prevents excessive fuel pressure while still delivering the enrichment needed under boost.
According to Vortech guidelines, the 4:1 calibration is commonly paired with 38 lb/hr or 42 lb/hr fuel injectors, making it ideal for aggressive street, street/strip, and custom high-horsepower builds.
