12:1 Rising-Rate FMU for Stock-Injector EFI Vortech Systems
The Vortech Standard Fuel Management Unit (FMU) (PN 6Z110-139) is a high-quality secondary fuel pressure regulator engineered for multi-point electronic fuel injected (EFI) engines running Vortech supercharger systems. This 12:1 rising-rate FMU installs inline with the factory fuel pressure regulator on the return line and increases fuel pressure in direct proportion to boost pressure to maintain safe air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
This configuration features 1/4" barb fittings and a stiffer internal spring, making it the standard calibration supplied with many Vortech supercharger systems. Proper operation assumes the fuel pump being used is capable of delivering the pressure and flow required to support rising fuel demands under boost.
12:1 FMU Calibration Overview
The 12:1 FMU is designed primarily for Vortech supercharged applications using original equipment fuel injectors. This higher fuel pressure rise rate helps maintain an air-to-fuel ratio of approximately 10.8:1 to 11.5:1 under boost, depending on engine efficiency, boost level, and overall system configuration.
For applications using upgraded injectors, lower-ratio FMUs (10:1, 8:1, 7:1, 6:1, 4:1, and 3:1) are recommended to prevent excessive fuel pressure while still supporting safe fueling.
