10:1 Rising-Rate FMU for EFI Vortech Supercharger Systems
The Vortech Standard Fuel Management Unit (FMU) (PN 6Z110-137) is a precision-engineered secondary fuel pressure regulator designed for multi-point electronic fuel injected (EFI) engines equipped with Vortech superchargers. This 10:1 rising-rate FMU installs inline with the factory fuel pressure regulator on the return line, increasing fuel pressure in direct proportion to boost pressure to help maintain safe air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
Proper operation assumes the fuel pump being used is capable of delivering the required pressure and flow to match boost demand. Like all Vortech FMUs, this unit is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a durable blue anodized coating for long-term reliability and corrosion resistance.
How the 10:1 FMU Calibration Works
The 10:1 FMU calibration is intended for Vortech supercharged applications that require less fuel pressure increase than the standard 12:1 unit. This calibration is commonly used with slightly larger-than-stock injectors, offering improved fuel control while still maintaining safe air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
Higher-ratio FMUs such as 12:1 are typically used with original equipment injectors, while lower ratios (8:1, 7:1, 6:1, 4:1, and 3:1) are designed for applications using progressively larger injectors and higher-output custom combinations.
