Designed specifically for Broncos equipped with the 2.3L or 2.7L EcoBoost engine, the 422234 combines high-flow 3" mandrel-bent tubing, a less restrictive Roush muffler, T304 stainless steel construction, and a removable black exhaust tip for a performance upgrade equally at home on the highway or trail.
Roush designed the system to maximize exhaust flow while addressing one of the drawbacks of the large factory muffler. The compact axle-back configuration does not hang as low as the OE muffler, helping improve ground clearance and departure angle. For additional clearance during demanding off-road driving, the exhaust tip can also be removed.
Throaty Roush Exhaust Tone
The Roush 422234 gives the turbocharged Bronco a more aggressive exhaust character than the factory system. Its high-flow muffler and less restrictive exhaust path produce the throaty Roush exhaust tone while adding more personality to both everyday driving and off-road adventures.
The system also increases the audible turbo sound of the 2.3L and 2.7L EcoBoost engines, providing a more noticeable performance experience when accelerating.
High-Flow 3" Mandrel-Bent Tubing
Roush uses high-flow 3" tubing to provide a less restrictive path for exhaust gases leaving the engine. Mandrel-bent construction maintains the shape and internal diameter of the tubing through bends, helping promote consistent exhaust flow through the axle-back system.
Combined with the high-flow Roush muffler, the 3" tubing provides a performance-focused replacement for the factory rear exhaust assembly.

Improved Ground Clearance and Departure Angle
Roush designed the axle-back system with off-road use in mind. The exhaust does not hang as low as the OE muffler, helping improve ground clearance beneath the rear of the Bronco while also improving the vehicle's departure angle.
This more compact arrangement helps reduce the amount of exhaust hardware exposed beneath the rear of the vehicle, an important advantage when navigating rocks, steep transitions, and uneven terrain.
Removable Exhaust Tip for Additional Off-Road Clearance
The black-coated exhaust tip is removable when additional clearance is needed. Removing the tip further improves departure clearance for off-road adventures, giving Bronco owners the flexibility to configure the rear exhaust for the terrain ahead.
When installed, the black tip features an etched Roush "R" logo for a clean performance appearance that complements the Bronco's rugged styling.
