Roush designed the Bronco Air Induction System to expand the available air filter surface area without altering the engine compartment. The upgraded filter provides 30% more filtration area than the OE filter, giving the Bronco increased filtration capacity for demanding street and off-road environments.
The larger filtration area is especially beneficial for Broncos regularly exposed to dusty trails and other environments where the intake system must manage significant amounts of airborne debris.
Maintains Factory Water Fording Capability
Off-road capability was an important consideration in the design of the Roush Air Induction System. Unlike an intake upgrade that compromises the factory system's protection, the 422233 is designed to maintain the Bronco's factory water fording capability and help prevent water ingestion into the engine.

Included Off-Road Pre-Filter
Every Roush Bronco Air Induction System includes a specially designed off-road pre-filter. The pre-filter fits over the intake filter like a sleeve and is engineered to repel water while preventing larger debris from reaching the primary filter media.
By helping keep larger contaminants away from the main filter, the pre-filter helps maintain filter cleanliness and efficiency while allowing proper airflow. Roush recommends removing and cleaning the pre-filter regularly to prevent accumulated debris from restricting airflow and to help extend the service life of the primary filter.
The pre-filter is finished with the Roush "R" logo for an additional branded detail under the hood.
See-Through Filter Lid
A see-through lid allows the condition and capacity of the air filter to be monitored without disassembling the intake system. This is particularly useful during off-road driving, where dust and debris can accumulate more quickly and regular inspection becomes more important.
Being able to visually check the filter helps make routine maintenance easier and lets you determine when cleaning is necessary before heading back onto the trail.
