During normal engine operation, crankcase vapors containing oil are routed back through the intake tract via the PCV system. Over time, these vapors can coat intake valves, intercooler fins, intake runners, and other induction components while also reducing fuel octane. Turbocharged engines are particularly susceptible due to increased crankcase pressures generated under boost. The J&L 3.0 Oil Separator helps eliminate these contaminants before they can impact performance.
Constructed from solid billet aluminum, the J&L 3.0 features a highly effective dual-stage filtration system. A fine stainless steel mesh screen captures suspended oil particles, while a 1/2-inch thick aluminum honeycomb filter further condenses remaining vapors into larger droplets that fall into the collection reservoir. The result is cleaner intake air and improved long-term engine cleanliness.

How It Works
Oil vapors first pass through a fine stainless steel screen that captures suspended contaminants. Remaining vapors then travel through a thick aluminum honeycomb filter where droplets merge and become too heavy to continue through the PCV system. The captured oil collects in the reservoir and can be easily drained during routine maintenance.
Optional Upgrade
This application is compatible with the J&L Reservoir Extension, increasing total fluid capacity from 3 ounces to 6 ounces for extended service intervals.
