The Vortech V-30 105A Supercharger Head Unit is a next-generation centrifugal compressor developed to replace the outgoing V-24 XB-105. Engineered from a clean-sheet design, the V-30 105A incorporates advanced aerodynamic and structural technology aimed at racers demanding massive airflow, extreme boost capability, and proven durability well beyond the 1,000 horsepower threshold.
At its core is a high-efficiency, 5-axis CNC-machined billet impeller paired with an improved high-diffusion housing featuring an 11-inch diameter volute. This compressor architecture was developed and validated in Vortech's SAE J1723-compliant supercharger test cell, ensuring stable, repeatable performance at extreme shaft speeds and boost pressures. Compared to the V-24 Xi platform, the V-30 105A offers 6% more flow area, translating directly into increased airflow and power potential.
The V-30 platform utilizes a patented impeller shaft support system designed to survive the severe acceleration loads and sustained high RPM operation common in drag racing and offshore marine competition. A modular compressor design allows the V-30 family to support multiple compressor stages, while all V-30 units share a 4.21:1 internal step-up ratio. The V-30 105A is engine oil lubricated, though custom auxiliary oiling systems can be fabricated if required.
Despite being one of the more compact compressors in the V-30 lineup, the 105A delivers well over 1,500 horsepower and is capable of producing more than twice the power of a typical roots-style supercharger, making it an ideal solution for space-constrained, high-output racing builds.
