The factory upper control arm is prone to flexing under heavy loads, and when combined with soft rubber bushings, it deflects significantly. This deflection absorbs valuable horsepower instead of transferring it to the tires, leading to wheel hop, inconsistent traction, and altered pinion angles. Engineered specifically for vehicles upgraded with a 9-inch rear housing across street performance, drag racing, and road racing applications, this heavy-duty upper control arm eliminates flex while keeping your ride quiet and comfortable.
Built to withstand extreme performance environments, this control arm is manufactured from heavy-duty 1-5/8 inch, 0.120-inch wall DOM steel tubing and features professional TIG-welded chrome-moly tube adapters. For precision alignment adjustments, the arm utilizes a CNC-machined chrome-moly center adjuster with rolled threads for ultimate strength and durability. The on-car adjustable design allows you to easily fine-tune your rear pinion angle to optimize driveline geometry and reduce drivetrain vibration without removing the arm from the vehicle. To eliminate compliance without sacrificing ride quality, BMR equips the arm with large 2-inch, high-performance 95-durometer polyurethane bushings. These premium bushings feature internal fluting that evenly distributes grease to the inner sleeve and thrust surfaces, ensuring long-lasting, quiet, and bind-free operation. Finished in a high-gloss red powdercoat, this upgrade installs in approximately 2-3 hours using basic hand tools. Note: BMR strongly recommends upgrading to the factory-length aftermarket mount (Part # UCM002) when installing this arm to avoid potential clunking noise from the stock mount.
