Dial in proper rear pinion angle and help reduce lowering-induced driveline vibration with the UMI Performance Pinion Shim Kit for the 2015-2027 Ford F-150. Designed specifically for 2WD and 4WD trucks equipped with the UMI rear flip kit, the 6574 kit uses a pair of precision 2.5-degree tapered aluminum shims to help correct driveline geometry after lowering.
Lowering an F-150 can dramatically improve its stance, but changing rear suspension geometry can also alter the relationship between the driveshaft and rear axle. UMI developed these pinion shims to provide the angle correction needed to help maintain smooth driveline operation in trucks using its flip kit.
2.5-Degree Pinion Angle Correction
Each UMI 6574 shim features a 2.5-degree taper designed to adjust the rear axle pinion angle. Correcting this angle helps compensate for the geometry changes created when the rear of the truck is lowered with the UMI flip kit.
Proper pinion angle is an important part of achieving smooth driveline operation. UMI designed the 6574 kit to help reduce or eliminate vibration caused by the altered driveline angles associated with lowering.
Designed for the UMI Rear Flip Kit
The UMI Pinion Shim Kit is application-specific and intended exclusively for F-150s equipped with the UMI rear flip kit. The 2.5-degree taper is designed to work as part of UMI's lowered rear suspension configuration rather than as a universal pinion shim solution.
6061-T6 Aluminum Construction
UMI manufactures the pinion shims from strong 6061-T6 aluminum. This material provides the strength and durability needed for use between the rear axle and leaf spring assembly while keeping the components lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Direct Bolt-In Installation
The 6574 Pinion Shim Kit features a direct bolt-in design when used with the compatible UMI rear flip kit. The package includes a matched pair of tapered shims, providing the components needed to adjust pinion angle on both sides of the rear axle.
Natural Aluminum Finish
The 6061-T6 aluminum shims are supplied with a natural bare aluminum finish, providing a simple, functional appearance suitable for an underbody suspension component.
