UMI Performance Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm TH400 Red (2219-R) - 1982-1992 GM F-Body
Install a TH400 transmission in your 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird while upgrading the factory torque arm arrangement with the UMI Performance Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm. Designed specifically for short-tail TH400 transmissions, the 2219-R includes a transmission crossmember and adjustable torque arm to replace the factory torque arm that cannot mount to the TH400 tail shaft.
By relocating the front torque arm mounting point away from the transmission, the UMI system helps protect the transmission tail shaft from damage. Pivot brackets provide instant center adjustment, allowing the suspension setup to be tuned for improved performance and reduced 60-foot times, particularly on low to mid horsepower combinations.
Adjustable Torque Arm Design
The 2219-R provides on-car pinion angle adjustment along with a greaseable front pivot point. The system is designed to help eliminate wheel hop and traction issues while also reducing front-end nose dive during braking. Polyurethane bushings help absorb shock and minimize road noise.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The torque arm setup uses seamless steel tubing, chrome-moly tube adapters, heat-treated adjusters, CNC machined mounting plates, and Grade 10.9 hardware. Installation is completely bolt-on with no welding or drilling required.
NHRA Legal Drive Shaft Loop
An NHRA legal front drive shaft safety loop is included and is compatible with drive shafts up to 3 inches in diameter.
