Help keep your 10R140 transmission running cooler with the PPE Transmission Coolant Thermal Bypass Valve for 2020-2026 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke. Designed to eliminate the restrictive operation of the factory transmission cooler coolant valve, this upgrade provides unrestricted coolant flow to the transmission cooler at all times. The result is improved cooler effectiveness and transmission temperature reductions of up to 35 degrees Fahrenheit during towing, hauling, off-road driving, highway cruising, and other demanding conditions.

From the factory, the 6.7L Power Stroke oil-to-water transmission cooler uses a solenoid-controlled valve assembly to regulate coolant flow. The solenoid is energized when the ignition is switched on, completely restricting coolant flow to the transmission cooler until transmission fluid temperature reaches approximately 210 degrees Fahrenheit. Even after the factory valve fully opens, its restrictive internal passage can limit coolant flow and reduce the effectiveness of the transmission cooler.

PPE addresses this restriction with a full-flow design that allows coolant to continuously circulate through the transmission cooler. CNC-machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum and protected by a durable black anodized finish, the PPE valve is engineered as a long-lasting solution for owners looking to improve transmission thermal management. A built-in circuit preserves the factory electrical connection, helping provide a clean, properly integrated installation without eliminating the original connector.

How It Works

The factory solenoid-controlled valve restricts coolant flow into the oil-to-water transmission cooler until transmission fluid temperature reaches approximately 210 degrees Fahrenheit. Even when fully open, the factory valve contains a restrictive passage that can limit coolant flow. The PPE Full-Flow Transmission Coolant Valve removes this restriction and allows continuous coolant circulation through the transmission cooler for more effective temperature control.
