Overview
PPE's Cast Iron Cylinder Head is a major reliability upgrade for 2011-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LML engines. Built from specially alloyed gray cast iron, this head is engineered to eliminate the common weaknesses found in factory aluminum heads, including blown head gaskets, cracking, and heat-related distortion.
Superior Strength & Heat Resistance
Because the cast iron head expands at the same rate as the OEM iron block, it prevents the head-gasket scrubbing that often leads to gasket failure. The material also offers exceptional fatigue strength and creep resistance, making it ideal for high-heat, high-load, or performance applications.
Upgraded Valve Train Components
Each head arrives fully assembled with premium valve train components. This includes nitridated intake and exhaust valves, Stellite-reinforced exhaust valves, upgraded springs, and case-hardened chromoly retainers/locators. These improvements enhance durability and improve valve control at higher RPM.
Improved Efficiency & Reduced Noise
The dense cast-iron structure reduces engine clatter and provides better thermal efficiency than aluminum heads. Alloy valve seats further improve wear resistance and sealing performance.
