PPE's Cast Iron Cylinder Head is a major durability upgrade for 2001-2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7 engines. Designed to replace the factory aluminum head, this unit eliminates common issues such as head gasket scrubbing, cracking, and injector cup leaks. Built from specially alloyed gray cast iron, it delivers exceptional strength, heat resistance, and long-term reliability.
Engineered for Strength & Heat Control
Unlike OEM aluminum heads, PPE's cast iron construction expands at the same rate as the factory iron block, preventing gasket movement and blown head gaskets. The material also withstands higher temperatures, making it ideal for towing, performance builds, or any application where heat management is critical.
Upgraded Valve Train Components
Each head arrives fully assembled with premium components, including nitridated intake and exhaust valves, upgraded springs, and case-hardened chromoly retainers. Cast-in injector cups eliminate the OEM cup-leak issue, while improved valve seat materials enhance wear resistance and longevity.
