Stock rear upper frame rails are made from stamped steel and only provide enough clearance for a standard factory-sized tire. BMR’s Frame Notch Kit (FR461) narrows your rear upper frame rails to provide up to 5/8-inch of additional clearance, giving you enough room to safely tuck a massive 275/60R15 drag radial under the rear of your classic ride without rubbing.
Manufactured from heavy-duty laser-cut 3/16-inch steel plate, the FR461 is engineered specifically for street performance and drag racing applications where wider rubber is a necessity. Supplied in a bare steel finish to allow for professional welding installation with a standard MIG welder, this kit delivers the ultimate clearance solution for your Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass, or El Camino.
