Designed specifically for Terminator Cobra models equipped with the T56 transmission, the DSS 610334 combines a 3.25" carbon fiber tube, solid U-joints, a high-speed 108mm CV, and a heavy-duty 300M spline to create a performance-focused driveshaft capable of supporting up to 950 horsepower.
Previously offered under part number FDSH8-C, this carbon fiber driveshaft is designed for use with a 1350 rear pinion yoke. By replacing the factory rear flat U-joint flange with a billet pinion yoke, the drivetrain can utilize a 1350 series U-joint at the rear, addressing what DSS identifies as the weakest link in the factory Ford driveshaft configuration.
3.25" Carbon Fiber Construction
The DSS 610334 uses a 3.25" carbon fiber tube manufactured with the newer DSS bonding method. DSS intentionally uses a smaller-diameter carbon fiber tube than some other designs to help prevent clearance and heat-related issues while retaining the performance advantages of carbon fiber construction.
The carbon fiber shaft is approximately 1-2 pounds lighter than comparable aluminum driveshafts. In addition to its reduced weight, DSS notes that the carbon fiber shaft provides greater torsional characteristics that can help reduce noise transmitted into the cabin.
Designed for Up to 950 Horsepower
The factory Ford driveshaft's rear flat U-joint flange can become a limiting point as power increases. DSS designed the 610334 to be used with a 1350 rear pinion yoke, replacing that factory-style connection with a stronger configuration utilizing a 1350 series U-joint at the rear.
With the appropriate 1350 rear pinion yoke configuration, the DSS carbon fiber driveshaft is designed to support power levels up to approximately 950 horsepower.
High-Speed 108mm CV
The driveshaft incorporates a custom-modified high-speed 108mm CV equipped with a special boot and grease. The CV arrangement is designed to interface with the transmission and differential as part of the complete DSS driveshaft assembly.
Custom corrosion-plated conversion plates are included to convert the factory CV arrangement to the DSS 108mm CV configuration.
Upgraded 300M Spline
DSS equips the 610334 with its newer-version 300M spline for the CV mount. This component is engineered to be stronger than the remainder of the driveshaft assembly, providing additional strength at a critical driveline connection.
Solid U-Joint Configuration
The DSS carbon fiber driveshaft utilizes solid U-joints and is designed to work with a 1350 rear pinion yoke. This configuration replaces the factory rear flat U-joint flange arrangement and allows a 1350 series U-joint to be used at the rear for increased power-handling capability.
Precision Balanced
Each driveshaft is balanced using one of the sophisticated balancing machines utilized by The Driveshaft Shop. Proper balancing is especially important in a high-speed rotating driveline component and helps ensure the complete assembly is prepared for demanding performance use.
Complete Installation Hardware
The DSS 610334 includes the hardware required for the driveshaft installation along with the custom corrosion-plated conversion plates used to adapt the factory CV arrangement to the DSS 108mm CV design.
