CorteX Xtreme-Grip Rear Lower Control Arm & Relocation Bracket System, Street (CLCA-40-2000S) - 2005-2014 Ford Mustang
Correct rear suspension geometry, improve launch traction, and reduce wheel hop on your lowered S197 Mustang with the CorteX Racing Xtreme-Grip Street Rear Lower Control Arm and Relocation Bracket System. Designed for 2005-2014 Mustang applications, this complete system combines adjustable lower control arms with multi-position relocation brackets to optimize rear suspension geometry for street, autocross, road course, and drag strip use.
Lowering an S197 Mustang changes the angle of the factory rear lower control arms, which can negatively affect anti-squat geometry and reduce the vehicle's ability to put power to the ground. The CorteX system corrects this geometry while providing two relocation bracket positions that allow the suspension setup to be tailored around the vehicle's intended use.

Upper Mounting Position
Using the upper hole in the CorteX relocation brackets returns the rear lower control arm geometry closer to factory specifications on a lowered Mustang. This configuration provides a balanced combination of anti-squat and roll steer, making it an excellent choice for Mustangs used for street driving, autocross, or road course events.
- Corrects geometry after lowering the vehicle
- Provides balanced anti-squat characteristics
- Maintains favorable rear roll steer
- Ideal for street, autocross, and road course applications
Lower Mounting Position
Using the lower mounting hole creates a more aggressive downward control arm angle. This increases anti-squat to help load the rear tires during acceleration, improving traction during hard launches. The tradeoff is increased roll steer, making this position better suited for street and drag strip applications where straight-line traction is the priority.
- Provides increased anti-squat
- Improves hard-launch traction
- Helps reduce wheel hop under acceleration
- Ideal for street and drag strip applications focused on launch performance
Street Johnny Joint Design
Instead of conventional polyurethane bushings, the CorteX Street system uses American-made Johnny Joints. These joints feature an enclosed steel capsule with a urethane interior, providing excellent articulation while helping minimize friction, wear, noise, vibration, and harshness.
This design delivers a more precise suspension connection than the factory rubber bushings while maintaining the quiet operation expected from a street-driven Mustang. The result is improved suspension response without requiring the more competition-focused rod ends used in the CorteX Track system.
Performance Construction
CorteX combines lightweight, high-strength aluminum control arm links with heavy-duty stainless steel spacers and one-piece cold rolled steel relocation brackets. The brackets are powder coated for corrosion resistance, while Grade 10 hardware provides the strength required for demanding performance applications.
The complete system has been tested through thousands of miles of racing conditions to provide the durability required for both serious street builds and regularly driven performance Mustangs.
