392 Challenger gets Vortech S/C: 636HP on E85

Super happy with this phase of the “Battleship” being completed. Everything listed is available through Beefcake Racing, so hit us up for your build today!!

We work very close with our friends at Vortech Superchargers, so it was a natural choice to fit the centrifugal style supercharger to our 392 Hemi. Project Battleship was used as the first 2021 Hemi Kit and we helped them dial in the C.A.R.B. certified tune. Power output was 586 rwhp and 543 lb/ft of torque at only 6 psi. Vortech's integrated water cooler keeps the temps in check!

The Air Lift Performance air ride kit drops it in the weeds. The stock Airlift rear shocks were removed for a set of Viking Performance Crusaders. We do this on all of our 7 and 8 second bagged / drag cars. Wheels are a set of WELD Racing S76 Beadlock rears and V series fronts. Massive Front 6-piston 15" Baer Brakes allow the 18" wheels to clear and we added our Beefcake Racing logo for a true custom appearance.

For our next phase we then turned to our friends at Kooks Headers and Exhaust for a full performance exhaust system. Stainless steel 1-7/8" long tube headers were chosen with green cats tied into a full catback exhaust finished with black tips. Car sounds incredible! Shop Kooks Headers & Exhaust systems.

The motors are pretty brittle on the Hemi cars, so we contacted Justin at Fore Innovations for one of their dual pump return style fuel systems to support e85 and let the cylinders fire a little cooler at high rpm. To help supply the fuel we added a set of Injector Dynamics ID1050X injectors with stainless steel bodies to handle the E85.

Tuning is critical on the Hemi cars. Curt at Dusterhoff Tuning updated the calibration for proper air-fuel-ratio and improved the transmission shift point and firmness. The tune was completed with HP Tuners MPVI2 interface. Setting the timing at 15 degrees with 6 psi of boost, we saw a nice 636 rwhp and 595 lb/ft of torque on the BCR/FLP dyno. The custom tuning allowed us to see a solid 50 rwhp / 50 lb/ft over almost the entire power band and not just peak horsepower.

To keep the drivetrain from coming apart the guys at the Driveshaft Shop sent us one of their carbon fiber driveshafts, and a set of 1400hp half shafts. BWoody Performance hooked us up with a set of shorter sway bar end links and a differential brace as well. The links aren't needed for 17" wheels, but it makes the wheel changes easier as you can hang the car on the lift versus jacking it by the control arms.

Big shout out to our partners at Finish Line Performance for handling all of our installations all the way through!

Next up will be a built engine from our friends at BES Racing Engines which should let us turn this thing up a few hundred more ponies...
