Up to 20% More Hot-Side Airflow
The BladeRunner hot charge pipe system is designed to reduce restrictions found in the factory piping. According to aFe Power, the upgraded hot side outflows the factory charge pipes by up to 20%, improving the path compressed air takes through the F-150's 2.7L EcoBoost turbo system.
By reducing restriction and pressure loss, the BladeRunner piping is engineered to support increased horsepower and torque while providing a smoother transition between the turbo system and engine.
2" to 2-1/2" Aluminum Charge Pipes
The hot-side system uses TIG-welded aluminum pipes ranging from 2" to 2-1/2" in diameter. The aluminum construction provides a durable, heat-resistant upgrade from the restrictive factory charge piping while allowing aFe Power to optimize the shape and transitions of the system for improved airflow.
Mandrel-Bent for Smoother Airflow
Smooth transitions in the mandrel-bent aluminum piping help decrease turbulence as compressed air travels through the charge system. Maintaining a smoother airflow path also helps minimize pressure loss, allowing the turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost to move air more efficiently between the turbo system and engine.
